I take great pride in playing a lot of local music on this show and celebrating and supporting the local music community as much as I can, but I don't think I've ever devoted an entire episode to showing off the wide variety of great music being made by artists from Manitoba or by other artists who have come here to record. I realized quickly that there was no way to distill it to a "Best of" or a complete overview, so this is a personal sampling of some of the great music that I love that came from here or was recorded here. There's so much more to discover and enjoy, but I hope you get a sense of the talent and passion that comes from this place by listening to this show!

Shining a spotlight on a true Canadian music MVP, producer/singer/songwriter/guitar player/pedal steel wizard/all-around good guy, Dale Murray! Dale is well-known by musicians but tends to be out of the spotlight most of the time, spending much of his time and sharing his talent by making others shine. He's been a valuable contributor to a wide variety of bands and projects, and on today's show, we listen to as many and as much as we can fit into 3 hours, but still ended up leaving a LOT out!

Independent Canadian record label Six Shooter Records celebrated its 25th anniversary this week. I'm pretty sure that no other source has provided as much great material for this show over the 22+ years that it's been on the air. The label has helped to release and promote some amazing music that wouldn't have been given a chance elsewhere and has given opportunities to a lot of talented artists. Today's show is a highlight reel picking out some of my many favourites that have been released by and on the label over the years.
